What is a bedside crib?

One of the key features is a smooth, rocking motion that can be activated by the press of an button. This can soothe baby into sleep with a gentle rhythm that doesn't disrupt their natural sleeping routine. This is great for older babies and toddlers who struggle to settle. It can also help with digestive issues like reflux and colic.

The crib can be locked into it once the rocking is completed to stop it from moving and can also be secured to the side of your bed with clips and straps. This makes the crib solid and secure, allowing you to sleep soundly without worrying that your child will slide off into the middle. The cocoon's rounded shape features soft padding on the sides as well as double mesh windows at both ends. This allows airflow while ensuring your baby's safety.

The mattress included is comfortable and firm. It also includes a washable cover. The lightweight aluminium frame makes the crib extremely mobile and easy to put together. There are six different height settings, including an incline setting that can aid in reducing reflux and congestion.

Unlike some bedside cribs which can be a challenge to clean due to their endless stream of dribble and snot The Tutti Bambini CoZeeAir has a wipe-clean liner and fabric that can be washed in the machine. It also has a top bar that can be easily lowered to accommodate feedings at night without having to fiddle with zips.

Anna found the CoZee to be a safe, cozy sleeping place for her infant. She liked that it didn't move like other models, which meant she didn't wake up in the night trying to comfort her child during feedings. She also liked that the side of the chair lowered so that she didn't have to reach over her partner in order to lift the child to feed them at night.

The CoZee is available in charcoal and oak and is a beautiful addition to the bedroom. It's more of an elegant piece of furniture than some of the other cribs that we've tested, which can appear quite utilitarian. It's also lightweight at just 11kg and comes with a carry case so you can bring it with you on vacation or when moving house. The only additional items you'll require are a fitted waterproof sheet and a co-sleeping safety strap. The instructions and pictures are simple to follow when you first open the box.

The Maxi-Cosi lora

The Iora is a bedside bassinet that helps parents feel connected to their child while they sleep. It can be adjusted upwards and downwards and shifted through three different positions for sliding to fit under the bed of the parent or in the corner so that the baby is always in reach. The mesh siding allows air to circulate through, allowing you to quickly see your baby. And you can store additional pajamas and other items in the large storage basket underneath.

The Iora is a smaller bedside crib that can fold flat. It also comes with a travel bag so it can be carried anywhere. It was easy to move from room to room, and our mum testers felt it was the right size for a bedside crib. The large storage basket is perfect for storing extra bedding or nappies.

This is a great choice for parents who wish to co-sleep but don't want to share their bed. Also, if one of the partners has mobility issues, such as back pain or arthritis. Our mom testers are thrilled with the ease with which they can access their child in the Iora and it also has an optional reflux incline to help with gas.

Our mums are thrilled that the mattress adheres to NICE guidelines. These include placing an infant in the Moses basket or crib on its own, without blankets, toys or pillows. They also state that the mattress is comfortable and firm for the baby and easy to find sheets for. It's not as light as the other cribs for bedside use however it is a good choice if you are looking for something lighter and more portable, look at alternatives on our list.
